What to Wear in Rishikesh: Clothing Advice!

What to Wear in Rishikesh: Clothing Advice!

What to wear in Rishikesh? It all comes down to the weather and what activities you want to do. For yoga, meditation, and water sports, you’ll need clothes that can get wet. And if you’re planning on doing any adventure sports, make sure to bring clothes that can get muddy.

Rishikesh can also get cold at night, so bring a jacket or sweater for after the sun goes down. From May onwards, though, Rishikesh becomes hot and humid. So if you’re visiting then, make sure to pack light and airy clothes that won’t make you sweat too much.

Clothing Advice for Rishikesh

Rishikesh is a beautiful place to visit, especially during the season. However, since it rains so rarely, be sure to pack light clothes. Indian men can be quite intrusive, so women should make sure their clothes cover their shoulders and knees. A skirt might not be the best option since you’ll be doing a lot of walking, so light pants or Indian Alladin-style pants would be more comfortable. And finally, don’t forget a light jacket or pullover.

UV-filter cream and sunglasses are essential when traveling to India between April and October, as the sun is particularly strong during those months.

Clothing Customs

It is customary to take off your shoes before entering a temple, someone’s home, a place of practice, a yoga hall, and many chillout cafes in India. Since you will need to take off and put on your shoes frequently, running shoes and other laced shoes would not be as comfortable as sandals, flip-flops, crocs, and flats. I have seen a couple of girls come to Rishikesh in high heels. Don’t do it. Rishikesh is a dusty village, and you will just twist your ankles and look out of place among people in flip-flops and crocs.

A shawl is a versatile item that can come in handy in many situations. It can be used as a blanket, a bathing suit cover, or a pillowcase. If you’re staying in Rishikesh, you can either bring one with you or buy one there. Just keep in mind that it’s considered disrespectful to bathe in the Ganges River while wearing a western swimsuit. A shawl is also a good choice for minimalists who want to use it as a towel.

Yoga Wearing

Yoga is an amazing way to improve your life, and it’s recommended that you make some basic preparations before starting your journey. It’s important to eat healthily and stay hydrated if you want to get the most out of your yoga practice.

But what you wear is also important. You should feel comfortable in your yoga clothes so you can focus on your practice. Look for sustainable, low-maintenance fabrics that are also high quality.

There is nothing worse than an outfit that is too tight or too loose. You want to be able to move freely and not have to worry about your clothes falling off or exposing more skin than you are comfortable with. Make sure your clothes fit well and are comfortable before you leave the house to avoid any embarrassing fashion mishaps.
