Unquestionably, Rishikesh is known worldwide after the Beatles came to live in the Ashram and composed some of their best songs, but today Rishikesh is already a city that has it all. Here are Lesser-Known must-visit Temples that you can not miss 1- Kailash Temple Loyal  Cave 2- Vindhya Wasini Temple while being in Rishikesh.

Kailash Temple or Loyal Cave

It is located 30 kilometers from Rishikesh is Loyal Cave. This is another one of the things to do in Rishikesh. A wonderful and unknown cavern caused by the erosion of water currents at the top of the mountains.

It is a natural cavity hidden under a religious temple and in which a Baba (guru of India) lives who keep it open for visitors. The entrance is through a traditional door covered with white ceramic, but immediately you have to descend some stone steps to reach the heart of the cave and visit all its sections or rooms.

Inside the cave, there is an electric light that facilitates, however, you can ask for a flashlight or use your mobile phone to explore this wonderful place. The rock formations and the colors are spectacular both on the floor and on the ceiling, it is possible to hear the dripping of the water or some of the bats that live in there and it is a small but really safe area, to enter alone or with someone.

Recommended Time: 2 to 3 Hours (Transportation and visit).

Vindhya Wasini Temple

Vindhya Wasini Temple

Another place unknown to many tourists is the Vindhya Wasini Temple is located 30 kilometers from Rishikesh and an hour’s drive away. It is practically within the Rajaji National Park & it is possible to find elephants on the way drinking water and eating plants on the banks of the river. However, it is not advisable to go in the rainy season, because the last journey to get to the temple has to be done between small rivers and access can be complicated.

It is a very simple place and has nothing beyond what can be found in any other Hindu temple sculpture of gods, flowers, offerings, pilgrims, and some Guru who lives in the place, however, the landscapes and the way to get there can be quite adventurous.

Recommended Time: 2 to 3 Hours (Transportation and visit).
