Change can be good…

If anyone has ever told you that change is good, they were right! We recently decided to change our job, location and some habits that were becoming a pain in the butt. We were working for a resort with no time stipulation, and while the job itself was kinda fun, there were some hidden agendas on that companies mind which weren’t disclosed to us when we accepted the position.

  1. Maintenance – These people wanted my husband to basically rebuild the place, that surely doesn’t sound like a “maintenance” job to me.
  2. Front Desk – Ok so answer the phone, take reservations, piece of cake… what they didn’t tell me was I would also be server, bartender, housekeeping and all that NOT so fun stuff.
  3. OVERPAYING in hours for our full hook up spot – Ok so yes we figured we had to pay, no biggy! Come to find out (Hello! I ran the front desk) that everyone else was paying $250 per month + their own electric, which is super cheap but WE were paying out of working hours $650 per month, like seriously, how unfair.
  4. Not so picturesque as they claimed and a 30 minute drive into town, not my meaning of ideal.

So now, we’re in Texas working another work camping job, where we knew what we were getting into before coming and the people. OMG the people here are super friendly and respectful, complete with the “Yes Ma’am” and all that jazz. We get a full hookup spot and its covered for those nasty rainy days and it’s quiet around here but get this ONLY 3 minutes to the nearest grocery store, fast food, gas station and everything else! Yes, we got lucky with this one but you can too!

We found this job by going to
