Goat Parva Murders – 13

This excerpt is from the book entitled The Goat Parva Murders an English Murder Mystery book set in the countryside, starring two policemen who have been working together for a few years and get along really well. There’s lots of dialogue and banter with some humour thrown in amongst the murders and suspects.

“And the belt Carly, Bingo gave you that too,” said Knowles.

“That damned woman spilled the beans – I will get even with her.”

“Where’s the jacket, Carly?”

“That Bingo dog didn’t give me a jacket.”

“Did you take it from the body when Mrs Hills went to report the murder?”

“No, I did not – Clem was still wearing it I swear he was when I left him.”

“Did you see anyone else around near the river when you were walking back?”

“I only saw Barry, Barry Janus, taking some pictures of the river near Hen’s Wood. I waved to him. When I looked around a minute later he’d gone from my sight.”

“Thank you, Miss Waferr,” said Knowles and placed the shoes and belt in the plastic bag he had brought with him especially for the job.

“Now back to the station and change to your car so we can visit Danica Baker-Clements” said Knowles to Barnes as they left the garden. Behind them Carly Waferr was pulling carrots out of the ground with a great deal of anger.
