5 days in the life of an English office are described in this Book, available for $0.99 up until 9th April. There’s lots of banter and insults flying around.

The Main Character Albert Merton has worked at the same firm for a number of years. Albert’s always been boorish, anti-recycling and anti-exercise but after losing a race with Nigel Todd, a man he outwardly detests, Albert changes his ways but still remains boorish.

But which of us is perfect?

This is certainly a question you can ask about some of the characters in this book. One person goes to the wrong place for a concert, another has horrible personal habits, and a couple have sex over a desk when no one is watching, but someone is listening.
The questions are how much should we change to fit in with the other people in an office environment and if we do change are we then being true to ourselves?

Albert undergoes a transformation after losing a race and feels better for it, but he doesn’t want to appear to credit Nigel Todd. Others try and compromise, some successfully others not.
The book is light-hearted and although Albert is intent on upsetting everyone, inside he is a good person who doesn’t really mean what he says, he’s just trying to get through his day.

This is a book with lots of dialogue, where the main character actually improves as the book progresses, so that by the end the reader might actually like Albert, not much but just a tiny bit.
