Life has become fleeting; we aren’t living anymore but running. Only something really powerful and compelling can make us ‘feel’ things strongly. Art has a way of its own to stick with its viewers, making every experience fresh and inspiring. Singapore International Foundation and NalandaWay Foundation collaborated to form the Arts for Good Forum to give birth to an artistic and vibrant space to diverse artists, educators, programmers and practitioners from the social sector.
It’s 2020 edition is finally here with the event launching on 14 February, 2020 at the Indian Habitat Centre, Juniper Hall, Lodhi Road in New Delhi. It will be a 5-hour long event beginning from 9:00 a.m. till 12 p.m. The entry is open to all, free of cost, so that all kinds of artists, from any background can get the opportunity to connect with fellow creators.
This forum has become a platform for all individuals working with the arts and even the youth to interact and be able to share ideas and their stories. It is like an artistic ecosystem whose existence has become quintessential in such contentious times, globally. There are various talks and sessions that are held on the day of the event exploring the boundaries of art or how it can be a catalyst to healing and even world peace. The panel talks about contributing art in a manner wherein it can be utilised to create a social impact.
This forum also provides an international fellowship to grow this artistic community that fosters training and believes in putting effort to build a safe space for inspiring change and an optimistic environment.
It brings together cross-sector professionals such as artists, art administrators and programmers from the social sector on a three-step programme comprising two exchange programmes and webinars.
When the one-year fellowship is completed, all the participants become a part of the global alumni and can continue contributing and engaging in the programme and supporting one another.
The primary purpose behind this idea was to have the ability to augment change in the society, foster peace and growth in the world. The foundation of their work remains the strength of understanding between people coming from diverse countries, backgrounds and mindsets.
