It’s hard to think of any other island in the world that offers more things to do than Bali Indonesia.

No matter what your interests are Bali has got something for you.

However, many travelers who have never been before, often wonder how long should I stay in Bali?

While the answer to this question is generally the same, the more the better, not everyone has extended amounts of vacation time.

Which leaves those with a narrow holiday window, wondering if they actually have enough time to explore Bali.

Therefore in this blog, we will ultimately answer the question of how many days do you need in Bali and if it is even worth your visit.

What Is There To Do In Bali?

Before we answer the question of how many days in Bali is enough, lets first look at some of the top places to visit in Bali.

This should help you visualize the vast collection of attractions that Bali has to offer and how much time you will need in order to visit each.

Nusa Islands

How Many Days In Bali Is Enough?

The list above shows the most popular places to visit in Bali.

For that reason, if you are able to visit these 5 different destinations on your trip, then consider your Bali holiday a whopping success.

However, in order to visit all of these destinations for the minimum amount of recommended days, that would require a total of 14 travel days.

Keep in mind that the time frame does not including arriving and departing flight times.

Nonetheless, a 2 week Bali itinerary is the just the right amount time for those who wish to have the full Bali experience.

During those 2 weeks, you would be exposed to all the best things Bali has to offer and would certainly return from your holiday feeling quite satisfied.

With that being said, attempting to combine these 5 destinations into the span of just 2 weeks will be hectic and may leave you quite exhausted with minimal time to rest.

Hence, if you have more time available to explore Bali, then I highly recommend visiting for 21- 24 days.

During my first visit, I spent a total of 31 days in Bali and still wish to go back for even more.

And in case you were wondering, yes, I did accidentally overstay my 30-day tourist visa and did have to pay a minor fine.

What If I Don’t Have That Many Days To Spend In Bali

In such cases where you are not able to spend 2 weeks in Bali, then I recommend a bare minimum of 10 days.

Thus, you will have to exclude at least 2 of the destinations listed above.

However, if you don’t feel the need to visit some of those places, then you should easily be able to plan a 10 trip to Bali.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 1 Week In Bali Enough?

Unless you are Australian or live somewhere in Southeast Asia, it’s quite hard to justify traveling to Bali for just one week.

This is especially true for anyone traveling to Bali from anywhere in North or South America, which includes ridiculously long flight durations and layovers.

The one-way flight (layover included) alone will take you around 24 hours to even reach Bali.

Therefore, in order to justify the long 48-hour flight (departure + return), you will need more than just one week in Bali.

However, if you are traveling from Australia or somewhere else that is relatively close to Bali, then it is understandable to want to do a week in Bali as a short getaway.

Most likely the only destinations you would visit would be Seminyak and Ubud since they are located the closest to each other, but if you are ok with that then go for it.

How Many Days In Bali While Backpacking Southeast Asia?

For those already backpacking through Southeast Asia, and wondering how many days do you need in Bali, the answer is a bit different but more or less the same.

While the plane ride to Bali from somewhere like Thailand or the Philippines will be much shorter, you will still need at least 10-14 days to see the best attractions.

Is 3 Days In Bali Enough?

Often times people will ask is 3 days in Bali enough time to see everything and the answer is an enormously fat NO!

3 or 4 days in Bali is probably enough time to lounge at a beach club, see the rice fields, go shopping in Seminyak and maybe see a monkey.

Although it is common for some Australians to take short holidays to Bali, 3 days just seems a bit pointless to me and is always going to be more trouble than it is worth.

How Many Days In Bali For A Honeymoon?

If you are honeymooning from somewhere located close to Bali like Australia or Thailand, then I recommend spending at least a week.

However, if you are on a honeymoon from somewhere that requires an exceptionally long flight, then I recommend at least 10 to 14 days.
