1. Red Fort
This is one of the oldest and most famous tourist destinations in India. Situated in the national capital this structure over centuries reminds about the Mughal power in the region. The UNESCO World Heritage Site has gilded pillars in marble with curvature and is constructed in red sandstone spreading over 254 acres.
There are several structures and architecture to see in the building including the marble jaali, Khaas Mahal and the Diwan -I- Aam. There is also a museum where you find the personal things, paintings of those times and manuscripts of the emperor Shah Jahan. There is a ‘Sound and Lights Show’ that charges more and starts at 6 PM for more knowledge about the history of Red Fort.

2. Qutub Minar
This five storey tower is the tallest tower in the country measuring 73 meters in height with pillar of iron in the courtyard that did not rust though over 1000 years old. Constructed with red sandstone, it features various architectural style ranging from Aibak to Tuglaq times.
There are many other things to check out in the Qutub complex like Quwwat Ul Islam mosque, iron pillar which is 7 meters high, and Iltutmish tomb close by. This tower was first made of 3 storeys and the top most 2 marble minars was done by Firoze Shah Tughlaq.

3. Jantar Mantar
Jantar Mantar is one of the biggest solar observatories in the country. It was originally constructed by Maharajah Jai Singh II for getting the planetary moments and sun or astronomical measurements as he wanted a large instrument.
There are six such pieces inside and are marked with measurements like scale. Now, as there are other taller structures in the surrounding regions like tall buildings, the accuracy of the structures are going down. View the magnificent structure with a nominal entry fee. Jantar Mantar consists of 13 architectural astronomy instruments which you can explore through the Palace on Wheels train which offers world-class facilities for the passengers.

4. India Gate
This is the center point and one of the most prominent tourist structures to visit in Delhi earlier called All India War Memorial. This huge archway is situated on the Rajpath road so you can take an evening walk to relax with gardens beside and see the illuminated gateway of India. The inscriptions of the names of the several brave martyrs who gave their lives while fighting is one of the captivating aspect of this old and popular tourist location.

5. Lotus Temple
This ‘lotus’ shaped temple structure is situated in the national capital, the latest of 7 such ‘Bahai houses of Worship’ built around the world. It consists of 27 total lotus petals in pure marble with 9 water bodies surrounding it. Visit anytime to meditate or pray in this place where all religions come together. The best time to see the place is at evening when the lights reflect the waters around the lotus structure. Photography is done outside in the lovely gardens but is prohibited within the temple.

6. Lodhi Gardens
This place is one of the most peaceful and lush garden areas in Delhi. When you visit at morning you will find the morning joggers having a great time and some doing yoga. Groups or families also go for picnicking here. This is also a haven for birdwatchers as many rare birds come to the smaller lakes within the gardens.
There is a flowering aroma and there are many things to see inside the gardens including the Bonsai Park, tomb of Sikander Lodhi, Shish Gumbad and Bada Gumbad which dates back to fifteenth century. Entry and photography is not charged and you can visit anytime for a refreshing time.

7. National Zoological Park
If you are looking for a different type of sightseeing and some time to spend with nature then this is the best recreational activity to do. This park breeds rare in house creatures, houses a reptile home, a library, around 200 species of trees and over a thousand animals including 100 animal species.
Walk around and sit on the benches or travel in an electric van for little more charges in the zoological park spread across 86 acres. The best time to visit national zoological park is from October to March.

8. Rashtrapati Bhawan
The eastern side of Rajpath gives a view of the Rashtrapati building that is the official residence of the President. There are attractive gardens around called Mughal gardens that gives a breathtaking sight but for entry you need to take prior permission. Elephant structures welcome at the gates and top of pillars. The gardens are open to all during two months February and March.

9. Mahatma Gandhi Memorial
The black marble stone memorial commemorates the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi where he was cremated after he was assassinated. There is also a nature park surrounding the memorial and there are also other memorials in Raj Ghat situated closely including Veer Bhoomi, Shanti Vana, Shakti Sthal, and Vijay Ghat.
There is a picture, photographs and a sculpture where the Gandhian philosophy is given. The Raj Ghat is located on the river banks of the famous river Yamuna.

10. Nehru Museum & Library
This was once the official residence for the first prime minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru. Nehru Memorial museum has many works of him including documents, digitized manuscripts and pictures and his private study.
The museum preserves India’s struggle for independence the Nehru library is a prominent place for modern history and advanced research with information on great historic personalities such as Sarojini Naidu, Mahatma Gandhi, BC Roy, and many others. For kids, there is also a Nehru Planetarium featuring our solar system, planets and stars of space.
