Back in 2017 the internet giant Google and pioneering ride sharing company Uber partnered with each other and introduced a cool feature. That is from Google Maps one can enter the current and destination location and at the top you will be seeing the take ride icon in the map and can easily book the ride without the help of Uber App. But without an announcement Uber’s integration with the google maps has been detached

Google updated in the Help page in the request for a ride as:

• The User Cannot book ride directly from the map, But can look up the route from the map and book the ride from the app.
• This feature isn’t available in all regions and languages, right now Uber alone  got untied

To See the available rides:

• In your android or iOS mobile open the google map.
• Make sure that you have log in to the google account
• Search for the destination or tap it on the map that you need to reach.
• Below the map you can see the direction icon. Tap that.
• Right now the map show the estimated time to reach and the route to  the destination by car, walking, train.
• Next to that you can see the ride icon,   tapping on this will enlist the available service in the map.
• If you are going to choose the uber service it will redirect you to the uber app. Incase if you don’t have the app it will redirect you to the play store or App store.

The Reason for the detachment isn’t revealed officially. But can predict the reason as,  due to the less number of users using this feature or some other relevant to that. But other ride sharing service like Lyft, Ola, Grab, Go jek Provide this feature.

Many have the question that, does the live location sharing to the trusted contacts remains same ? undoubtedly that feature remains same. Only the integration to book a ride from the map alone is unbuttoned.
