History Of Hajj Blog
The sources of the Hajj go back to 2,000 B.C. whenever Ishmael, the newborn child of the prophet Ibrahim (Or Abraham, as he is called in the Old Testament) and Ibrahim's significant other Hager were stranded in the desert. With Ishmael near death from thirst, Hager kept running forward and backward between the slopes of Safa and Marwa searching for water until the holy messenger Jibril (Gabriel) touched down the earth and made a spring of crisp water for the child, known as the Well of Zemzem.
