Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge is one of the most popular tourist destinations in New Jersey. It is also one of the top bird sanctuaries in USA.

Located in the vicinity of Atlantic City, the Refuge extends for 50 miles along the coast from Brick Township to its southern extent, five miles north of Atlantic City.
There are around 300 species of birds that have been observed on the refuge.

It is an eight-mile, one-way, unpaved road that leads you through wetlands and woodlands. There are two observation towers and one observation deck equipped with spotting scopes to help visitors view birds. There are also four hiking trails.

There are wildlife viewing opportunities year-round on the refuge so you can visit the place during any time of the year.

1. It takes atleast 2 hours to complete the 8 mile drive so plan your trip accordingly. Also try to stay there till evening as the sunset adds in more colors to the sky and you will find more birds returning to their nest.
2. At the end of the 8 mile road, there are 2 small bridges which are the most picturesque locations of the whole refuge. So park your car in the side and spend some time there.
3. It is a paradise for photographers so do carry your zoom lens with you (70-300 mm kind of).
