This is a very short post but I wanted to relay a few things I his is yet another short post but here I am again with ten things I miss about Flying. I am acknowledging my privilege day after day and realising whilst travel is not necessarily a necessity to my life, it makes me feel alive. The feeling of switching off for 8 plus hours or more in search of somewhere far and new is going to feel different after this. By “this” I mean the pandemic-shaped elephant in the room. Here are 10 things I miss about flying…
Taking off and the adrenaline rush that comes with it.
That strange beep noise when you reach ten thousand feet.
Ignoring the safety demonstration because like Sunshine Anderson, I’ve heard it all before. Disclaimer: Every aircraft is different, please don’t do this.
The sense of peace when putting my phone on airplane mode. No notifications, no messages, just silence.
Taking 13490578930 pictures of the view from the plane window.
Buying overpriced beauty products in duty-free. £19.50 Working out how many movies or shows I can watch during the length of the flight.
Finding out the seats next to you are empty. When you fly economy, this is equivalent to to a taste of first class.
Putting my headphones in and ignoring my flight neighbour. Just because you’re sitting next to me doesn’t mean I need or want to speak to you.
Writing blog content – it’s my favourite place to tune out.
Landing in the destination earlier than expected. More holiday for me.
