#1 Unplugged Moments – Prague, Czech Republic

A fairy tale place in true sense with a Gothic twist, it literally transports you to another world! The cobbled-stone streets, trams, Gothic architecture, witch-craft, palaces, bridges, churches, Jewish quarter, astronomical clock, quirky buildings, huge parks, crazy night-life and what not ! This cute laid-back city houses almost everything you wish for in a perfect holiday and visiting this beauty in autumn was the best decision of my life. I am in love with it so much that I am traveling to Prague once again this autumn with much more excitement than ever! – Kunjal Karaniya

#3 That Doggone Lady – Telč, Czech Republic

Telč is a fairytale town that I feel in love with at first sight. The wooden houses with painted front, the cobbled paths, gentle streams, verdant forests, and cheap food. It is undoubtedly romantic – you can spend hours just sipping wine in the old town square, listening to street musicians or going for long walks in the nearby forest. If you do wish to explore, there is a Marian and plague columns and a church.

It is meant to be a day trip from the more vibrant and crowded Prague. For me, it proved a good, and quiet break break. I spent my day marveling at the painted houses, discovering slot machines in a local bar, drinking very cheap wine, eating fresh pastries at tiny bakeries and just standing by the lakeside, watching ducks go about their business. I did nothing there and it felt wonderful.

My favourite part of the town was being able to live in one of the heritage houses – Pension Stedler was newly reconstructed Renaissance 16th century building. It was a jumble of potted plants, staircases, loft rooms, dark passages and bursts of colour. –Joanna Lobo

I love the Czech Republic because every city there is just picture perfect. I visited Telc on my last Eastern European sojourn and fell in love with this old empty town, with a colourful square, gentle streams, green forests, cheap food and the most picturesque houses. I’ve also written about it (blog link ^).

#4 NomadicShoes – Hamta, Himachal Pradesh

For me Hamta is the fringe of heaven, my go-to place and a paradise for people looking for solitude. A few kilometers away from Manali, Hamta is a hamlet near Aleo Hydro Power Plant. One can camp, trek, or simply soak in the surrounding. Bring out the creative adult in you in these glorious surroundings with the most amazing view of the landscape. Draw the surrealistic shapes of the valley, paint the snowcapped mountains, write your next book, compose a song, or just read a book. It is THE vacation spot if you are looking for some alone time. One can also enjoy a light hike to a nearby waterfall, take a dip in the freezing water or just pack your picnic basket for a sumptuous meal by the stream. Hamta has always been close to my heart, I have felt at peace here, there is no other place in this world where I would go back again and again. – Suman Doogar

#5 Scattered Expressions – Kalga, Himachal Pradesh

On my search to run away from civilisation a couple of months back I landed in this beautiful little Himalayan Village called KALGA. Tucked away in nature, a steep trek leads to this village. As I made my way, I was welcomed by a full apple bloom all around. Wooden houses, mostly which are home stays caught my attention. Scattered across the Paravati Valley, the Parvati river too makes its way from here. This Himachali hamlet surrounded by the alpine beauty and patches of houses here and there makes it look like an artist canvas. Sipping my ginger tea, watching the endless serene paths or wandering outdoors amongst the blooms, Kalga – the little apple village is just perfect to light the holy smoke and chill. The sound of silence is enchanting, we should all experience once.

The journey doesn’t get restricted, I tracked my trek path to Phulga and Thulga the twin villages of Kalga. Cute names right! – Ayandrali Dutta

#6 Don & The Travel Mafia – Dudhsagar, Maharashtra

August 2015, four friends (all women) discovered a new trek path to the Dudhsagar Waterfalls. The usual route was declared dangerous and was banned by the police.

Our adventurous journey took us through leech infested waters and muddy roads of the Mollem National Park. This trek taught me to make my own road in life and stop following the crowd – Malita Crasto

The Dudhsagar falls are like milk gushing down, thundering on the rocks. Then comes along a train chugging right under the falls!!! An easy trek in the Mollem National Park takes you to this heavenly place. #7 Cocktails Mocktails & Life – Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh

Varanasi – The city unchanged with time and as old as time itself. It is home to many sound notes from chanting of sacred mantras to azaan from nearby mosque, from incessant ringing of temple bells to honking of vehicles, from slurp of kulhad chai to never ending alleys, from crackling of funeral pyres to the gurgling Ganges as she takes in everything that’s offered to her, be it flowers or filth. While everything “Banarasiya” is synonymous to chaos, the city still doesn’t fail to identify itself with the long- lived history, culture, art and traditions. The city basks in the glory of dying art of hand woven banarasi silk sarees aesthetically crafted by hand loom weavers, akhada culture, legends like Kabir, Tulsidas and Ustaad Bismillah Khan, aghoris roaming in reverie and copious Gods bestowing their blessings over the city. Another spectacle to behold in Varanasi is the mystical Ganga Aarti. The lights of the brass lamps, the smoke from camphor and incense sticks and the vedic chantings confer a sense of an impeccably positive energy.

Not to forget the food. I just could not save myself from gluttony. From chaat to kachodi, from lassi to rabdi, from chocolate pancakes to cookies, from banarasi paan to assortment of pickles, every savory piqued my binge eating hormones outrageously. I revered in the city’s chaos and calmness in unison.

– Dipanwita Chakraborty

The Ganga aarti at Dasaswamedh Ghat of varanasi is famous not only among Indians but tourists from all around the world come to witness the aarti. It is beautifully choreographed nd kind of takes you through the process of gaining back the lost faith in the divine. Be it for some time though. . . The aarti is a everyday ritual. People gather each evening to witness the grand aarti. I was on my solo trip to Varanasi during Diwali 2016 covering Varanasi during Diwali. #varanasidiaries #varanasi #incredibleindia #india #photography #wanderlust #wanderers #travel #travelphotography #travelsolo #femalesolotraveler #solotravel #solotraveler #gangaarti #traveldiaries #travelindia #traveltalesinpictures #colors #myphotoshot #uttarpradesh #asia #nikon #nikonphotos #nikon5100 #indiatravelgram #nikonphotography #trippyowl #TravelTodayTV #natgeo

#8 Roads & Routes – Hubbard Glacier, Alaska

Speechless! That is exactly how I felt as I lay my eyes on this beauty. The hidden sunrays penetrate through the watery clouds, bouncing off it’s demeanour turning it’s white coat into a blue armour. The radiance it spreads cannot be taken in with just one look. 7 miles wide and 76 miles long, Hubbard Glacier is the largest tidewater glacier in North America. It’s accessible by cruise ships as it is isolated. It is also terms the “galloping glacier” because of how frequently it is advancing toward the Gulf of Alaska through Disenchantment Bay. I have been here two times and it is just not enough. – Shreta Arora

#9 Transforming Escapes – Valparaìso, Chile

Vaparaìso is known around the world for its street art and murals. Like an artist once said, every wall has a story here. I was enthralled by looking at the meaningful depections about life, love and everything else in between. I was tempted to stop at every few feets to admire the beauty of this quirky town.

There 42 hills and vintage yellow funiculars lead you to the top at standpoints which have 360° views of the entire city. And as the sun sets in, the pretty and colorful houses lit up admist the orange hue which adds to the moments beauty. And while strolling the many by-lanes around the hills of Valparaìso, admiring the street art and devouring scrumptious Alfajores, a lip-smacking treat made with two fluffy biscuits filled with manjar and bathed in chocolate, I fell in love with the city! – Ankita Sonawne

#10 TravelHighway – Amsterdam, Netherlands

How can yours truly miss out? If you corner us and ask which is the best place we have seen, the answer might change every time. But Amsterdam will always be in our hearts and conjures up surreal views of the world’s most liberal city and its picturesque canals in our minds. Amsterdam is a city that literally came out of mud and sea. From nothing to everything, its journey has been one that stands out. Like a true phoenix, it has born out of ashes every time (This too, literally, as fire hazards burnt the entire city down multiple times). Just like any other place in the world, once you connect with the history you can never really disconnect from a place. You become one of its own.

Outright picturesque and gorgeous. How dare you, Amsterdam? @iamsterdam @igersamsterdam
