Namkeen/savouries – eat with your eyes !

With the COVID pandemic keeping us indoors, two positives that have come out for me is one – a chance to improve on my photography skills and second to explore and order food/essentials from places I’ve never tried or experienced before. The outcome is what I wanted to share with you with some snaps that I’ve taken using either my Nikon DSLR or Samsung smartphone of namkeen or savouries that I’ve probably tried for the first time !

Haldiram’s Soya Sticks

I had probably tried a lot of Haldiram stuff before the pandemic struck and most of it was during the neighborhood department store visits but never picked on Soya Sticks. Being at home, ordering online and looking for something different, went for the Soya sticks and it turned out to be a great find !

MINI KACHORI

Another find was this place called ‘Sangam Sweets’ in Bangalore. It’s one of the well known brands in the city but with it not being closer to the locality where I live, did not get a chance before up until they started home delivery via Swiggy and other portals. Excellent mini Kachori’s, neat packing with clear best before dates.

ANDHRA MURUKKU

I’ve tried a wide variety of murukku or Chakli in the past but this version of Andhra Murukku from Sangam sweets had a different and good taste to it. Tried a different composure with each snap.

Fried Roti with Sugar

This is not something that was ordered from outside but more of an attempt at a snack with left over Roti’s and something my Mom is great at. Roti’s deep fried with a sprinkle of sugar on top and voila you have an evening snack to hog on.

And that’s a wrap. I would love to get some feedback from you on the snaps and also on some of these namkeen’s if you have tried and any recommendation as well. Comment away !!
