Packing a Suit Guide For Regular Travelers

Packing a suit is a must-learn thing for regular travelers like us. Everybody likes the pack-n-go lifestyle but the need for an easy strategy is always there.

Packing effectively can simply allow you to carry more in the same suitcase you use.

Wait, how is that possible?

It’s about compressing the clothes in such a way that less space is consumed and yes, no pressing is required later on. You just have to pick your day-favorite suit and get dressed in no time.

Here is a simple how-to guides collection shared by styling blogs, brands, and other authorities:

#1. Brooks Brothers way – Takes

Brooks brothers have a 6 step formula to pack your suit in less than 5 mins or so:

– > Firstly, lay suit face down on a flat surface

– > Fold the left shoulder bag;

– > Turn right shoulder inside out, and then tuck left shoulder into the right

– > You’ll have folded in half lengthwise, now fold horizontally

– > Place folded the Jacket in the center of outstretched trousers.

– > Fold trouser bottom over jacket and repeat with top of trousers.

That’s it, you’re ready to make your way around.

#2. WikiHow’s Strategy to pack a suit – Takes

Similar to Brooks Brothers’ way, we have WikiHow’s how-to/guide to packing a suit in no time:

– > Start with turning your suit jacket so that the backside is facing you (on a flat surface)

– > Fold the left side of jacket backward, just the shoulders end

– > Fold the right side of the jacket then. Make sure there are no curls in there and both sides have been turned perfectly.

– > Fold the jacket into half lengthwise. Just grab the bottom of your jacket and sack it up with the upper end.

That’s it for the first method, here’s another method shared by WikiHow:

– > Similar to the first method, start by laying your suit jacket face down on a flat surface. Make sure the backside is facing you.

– > Fold the left shoulder back towards the center of the suit. Straighten out the arm of the suit so that it runs flush along the side of the lapel.

– > Fold the right shoulder and turn it inside out so that it is shrunk.

– > Now, Tuck the left shoulder into the right shoulder. The entire length of the lapel should be lined up and straight.

– > Fold the bottom and top of the jacket and that’s it, you’re ready to put in your suit inside the suitcase.

Another simple guide to packing your suit is folding the jacket in half lengthwise and then rolling like a ball. It just takes a few seconds but it may damage the pressed condition.

What Packing guide do I follow?

Being a traveler, I have tried several methods to pack suits but the easiest packing method is WikiHow’s first (we already learned). It just takes a few seconds to get it packed and the clothes’ condition remains the same.

Any Suggestion For Better Packing?

About suggestions, I’ll share an easy to follow a brief guide about better packing:

#1. Start with the right suitcase

Before we follow a suit packing guide, it is important to choose the right suitcase.

Here are a few things to consider while choosing a suitcase:

#1. Make sure it is durable: When it is about traveling, durability is what we require. Choose the suitcase that is manufactured using tough plastic and steel combination.

#2. Make sure it has compartments: Concerned with the packing, we have a different type of clothes to pack. You should go for a suitcase that has separate compartments for a variety of clothing.

#3. A zipped pocket for essential stuff

Rather than putting the essential detergents, face washes, and soaps with your clothes place them in a separate pocket. Most of the suitcases do have a zipped pocket which can easily take the essential traveling stuff.

With these three factors in mind, make a fine choice and order your suitcase to take your journeys to the next level.

It’s not the end, Here are a few more remedies:

  • The Packing Cubes Method: As the name suggests, packing cube methods means rolling, tossing, and tumbling along the way. It keeps your belongings tightly contained and minimizes wrinkles.
  • The Rolling Method: Similar to WikiHow’s last guide, you can simply roll your t-shirts and jeans to get them packed in a matter of seconds. I use this one for jeans and t-shirts only.
  • The Mix and Match Method: This is a bit scientific stuff, in the mix and match method, you won’t need to pack as much. Just find a wear that can easily fit with two or more pants. Only this way, you can produce a combo and get your stuff inside with no wrinkles after.

Final Verdict:

It’s up to you which method you choose but make sure there are no wrinkles in the end. The packing cubes method and formal methods that are used by authorities is what I would recommend to anyone who is traveling for the first time.

Pack your suits well and catch your next flight, enjoy the ride.

Any suggestions?
