OCEAS Pocket Blanket Review

This post is sponsored by OCEAS Outdoors. All opinions are my own.

Super excited to get to test out the Oceas Pocket Blanket after I tested out their waterproof Sherpa blanket. With all the traveling I do, there are so many times I wish I had a lightweight blanket to put on the ground, whether it be to lay on, have a picnic, sit around the campfire, or do yoga. This thing is versatile.

What I Liked

Size: This thing is a great size, coming in at 60″ x 55″ it is plenty big for one person or make it a party with a couple of friends sitting around watching a concert, eating dinner, hanging out at the beach, or hanging out by the campfire =)

Packability: The OCEAS pocket blanket, packs down super small, check it out next to my sharpie.

Waterproof & Sandproof: This works great in sandy, wet, or dirty conditions (you know, like out on the trail), sand and dirt just shake right off of it. Water beads up and runs off. If it gets muddy, just hose it off.

Lightweight: Coming in at 5.86 oz, the OCEAS pocket blanket is super lightweight.

Grommets: I love that it has a grommet on each corner to allow you to stake it down during windy conditions!

Stretchy Carrying Bag: Ok this may sound silly, but how many times have you tried to put items (like air pads, tents, blankets, etc…) back in their bags just to have to fight with how rigid the bag is. The carrying bag for this is made of spandex, which means it stretches! It makes it so much easier to get the pocket blanket back into the bag!

What to Improve

I would like to see it come in a slightly longer size, so you could fully lay down on it. I would also like to see it come in a solid bright orange color (thinking survival situations, so you can easily be seen).

Overall Impression

The OCEAS pocket blanket is a super versatile blanket (although I would refer to it more as a mat). This wouldn’t be blanket in the normal sense (you’re cold and want to warm up cuddling yourself in a blanket), but more of a layer or mat. There is no padding or lining, but instead a layer of durable riptop polyester.

The ripstop polyester with waterproof coating makes it great to lay or sit on when you don’t want to get dirty, for use at the beach, at concerts, or heck even as a temporary way to get out of the rain! It’s super lightweight and honestly would make a good luxury item when backpacking as it is so versatile while also being a good size.

The sand pockets and grommets for stakes are a very nice touch and help keep the OCEAS pocket blanket in place on windy days. I do suggest upgrading the stakes to longer ones, as the ones that come with it are pretty short.

Where to Buy

You can buy the OCEAS pocket blanket on their website or on Amazon. It is currently available in 3 different colors; blue, gray, and red.
