With dazzling beaches, and its sun shining upon and five star luxury hotels, the Maldives has always been a paradise for Russian billionaires. Russia is among the top five nationalities who travel to the Maldives islands most.

Russia positions itself fourth to China, Germany and the United Kingdom, with Italy coming in fifth place in the country’s top five visitor numbers to Maldives from 2013-2015.  The numbers are expected to rise in 2016 with the low oil prices and healthy demand for travel

The islands is a “reverie” for wealthy Russians, and holds the ultimate ‘brag value’ to their friends.

The numbers unfazed with direct charter flights, lasting approximately eight hours, by Aeroflot and Transaero operating seasonally.
