Call me crazy.. but I feel guilty if I don’t trust people. I feel like I might miss out on a good thing. From childhood to adulthood we’re bombarded with the “dont trust strangers” memo so much so that when we meet new people on first instance we give them a negative rating and they have to “prove” themselves. Our backs are so up against the wall it barricades our decision making, character judgement and social relationships.
Think; if people could trust each other.. everything would be different. Positive relationships would circulate the world, borders would be open and we would have a better understanding with eachother.
I trust everybody 100% until they give me reason not too. That has only happened twice!
I trust and rely strangers while traveling
- I couchsurf
- I take free offers from people I just met
- I hitchhike
- I volunteer
- I accept invites to caves, mountains, parties and events with people I dont know
- I meet people in the moment and join them for coffee or beer
…sometimes I ask, sometimes they offer
