Weather In 60 Seconds - January 05th, 2017

A strong cold front continues to navigate through the Central United States - this is bringing a band of Snow stretching from the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California all the way through the Southern Plains, up through the Midwest into the Great Lakes region, and through much of New England and the Chesapeake Bay area.

As this storm progresses, it will bring continued snow and freezing rain to the southeast.  By Sunday morning, nearly the entire Lower 48 states will have temperatures below the freezing mark.

Other significant weather happening this weekend - the Pacific Northwest will experience some more heavy rain and wintery weather after already getting pummeled this last weekend.  Over ten inches of rain is possible to parts of Northern California - while the mountains surrounding the region will measure several feet of new snow.  Further north and east - states such as Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, and Utah - will see a combination or rain, snow, and freezing rain through the weekend.
