The Fall of KickAss Torrent

Torrent Freak reports that 30 year old Polish national, Artem Vaulin, was arrested in Ukraine over multiple accounts of copyright infringement and conspiracy to commit money laundering charges while operating KickAssTorrents.
A complaint filed in the U.S. District Court in Chicago claimed that KAT was hosting copyright material valued close to $1 billion. The US acting as the world’s policeman will extradite Vaulin to the US while seizing all Kick Ass Torrent domains. Vaulin was identified as “tirm”, the alleged owner & creator of KAT, also in charge of the website’s operations and finances.
The case was registered over the claims of a KAT server being operated in Chicago and was being concealed and protected by the company Cryptoneat, also owned by Artem Vaulin.
