New Year New Fight!
Time to start voting folks out of office, start local and work your way up. And I am not just talking about Republicans here (although EVERY SINGLE one of them needs to go).
This sort of shit happens when you don’t have a strong enough team fighting for you. So make sure the folks on our team are doing enough to fight for us as well.
If that means replacing 100% of the republicans and 50-85% of the democrats, I am ok with that. SO long as the folks we we replace them with are actually fighting for actual people, and not just paid lackeys of the super rich.
There is probably an Election for something super local happening in your area this year, there are the mid terms this year, there will more than likely be elections you can support in other states for progressive candidates you could support with small donations, you can be harassing your senators to do a better job, hell you could even be running for something.
I have been doing most of these things, and I have to tell you not only does it make you feel good, it helps take away that sucking empty feeling of hopelessness which seems to be everywhere these days.
Think like a Utopian.
After Equifax breach, anger but no action in Congress. The aftermath of the data breach played out like a familiar script: White-hot bipartisan outrage, then hearings and proposals that went nowhere.
There are people advocating that Democrats run flavorless candidates who sound like Republicans. “Shut up and vote for us” may work for party loyalists, but young people will not play along.

Allowing employers a “moral exemption” from offering birth control coverage is immoral. The issue here should not be an employer’s religious or moral beliefs but the needs, beliefs, health and safety of the employee. Your employers religion shouldn’t dictate your healthcare options.
In Antarctica, a fleet of seven drones will embark on a year-long mission under the ice. If they survive, the data they collect could drastically improve predictions of future ice melting and sea level rises.
