How to Install Windows 10 Anniversary Update Right Now

On August 2nd Microsoft released Windows 10 Anniversary Update for all the PCs running Windows 10 around the World. The Windows 10 Anniversary Update brings lots of new features and improvements to the Operating System.

The update brings Windows Ink, improved Cortana, Microsoft Edge browser with extensions and more. Along with the new features and innovation, there are several security improvements also. The Windows Defender is now more powerful and focuses on the internet security which is the most useful in today’s Web world.

Almost every PC is connected to the internet. Mine yes and Yours also will be. And everyone is aware of the need of computer security and Microsoft is also. The Cloud protection detects threads by comparing files with know thread footprints.

The Windows 10 Anniversary Update will be coming for Windows 10 Mobile phones soon. If you are unable to find Windows 10 Anniversary update in Windows Update, don’t worry. The update is rolling out in phases, the new machines will get the update first. So, if you have recently purchased a new PC then you will get it soon.

I will discuss two ways to get Windows 10 Anniversary update. I will start with Windows Update method which will mostly work. If you don’t see Feature update to Windows 10, version 14393/1607 or newer. Then use the second method that should work definitely for everyone.

Note: All your Files, apps, software, and settings will remain unaffected. Nothing to worry.

Through Windows Update

1. Open Windows Settings by pressing Windows key + I. Alternatively, you can select Settings (gear icon) from the Start Menu.

2. Go to Settings > Updates & Security > Windows Update and click or tap Check for updates. Let it do its work, wait.

3. The Windows 10 Anniversary update will start with Feature update to Windows 10, version number. Click update button to download and install the update.

It will take a longer time than usual updates as it is big. Both download and install times are in hours. You can continue using your PC while it is downloading.

But this method doesn’t work for me. I tried checking for updates many times but nothing appeared. So, I decided to go with the second option that works without any issue.

Use Windows 10 Update Assistant

Microsoft has an official tool that can assist you in getting Windows 10 Anniversary Update fast. Download the Windows10Update tool here. It is light and is just 5-6 MB in size.

1. Double-click or tap on Windows 10Upgrade.exe to open it. Confirm by selecting “yes” and wait for it to load.

2. The Windows 10 Update Assistant tool appear on the desktop. Click or tap Update Now at the right-bottom.

Here you can read which version will be installed and which version you are currently using.

3. Next step is to check system requirements, let the tool do its work. It will check CPU, Memory, and Disk space. If you see Congratulations, this PC is compatible, click or tap Next to continue.

4. Windows 10 update Assistant will now start downloading the update. It will take a few hours to complete. You can use your PC normally during it. You can minimize it to the system tray in the Taskbar.

5. Once the download is complete, the tool will show a countdown timer. It gives you thirty minutes to save all your work before your computer restarts. If you are ready, click or tap Restart now on the right-bottom side.

A warning message will appear informing you that your PC will log out in a minute. Click or tap “Close” to make it go. Your PC will restart in a few seconds.

6. Finally, the Windows 10 Anniversary Update is installing on your PC. The process will be same as for any other Windows update.

Your PC will restart several times during it. Sometimes, it seems that it has frozen but not, it’s working in the background.

6. After the update is installed, a screen will appear with user accounts. Select your account and click Next at the right-bottom.

7. On Get going fast screen, select Use express Settings. It may ask you to enable Cortana or not depending on your country and language.

Keep on clicking or tapping Next and finally log in to your account and you are done.

If you want to download the Windows 10 Anniversary Update ISO and use it to update another PC, use the Media Creation Tool. Follow the easy instruction in the guide. It’s quite easy, really.

Enjoy!
