My name is Joanne and I’m a 28 year old designer currently residing in NYC via San Francisco, and grew up in the 6ix (a.k.a. Toronto). I originally worked in healthcare, but wanted to do something that utilizes my creativity (hence why I’m a designer now)! I’ve always loved exploring new cities — seeing something different and new, and learning about their culture. This is why I travel a lot. I get itchy feet after a few weeks without traveling.
The flat lay grid was taken right before I went to Europe for my first international solo trip to Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Berlin. It was a great time to reflect on who I am, what I do, and to also enjoy some time by myself. It was definitely a memorable trip, and I can’t wait to do more solo travel in the near future.

What is the hardest part about being a designer and what is the most enjoyable part?
The most difficult part of being a designer is learning how to deal with clients from hell — it takes a lot of people and client management, which I am still learning. The best part is being able to use both the left and right side of my brain — problem solving through design and creativity.
Do you have anything you want to say to the readers?
Be yourself. Don’t let people tell you to be someone else. Embrace your uniqueness, your differences, yourself. Doesn’t hurt to be silly sometimes.
