Amazon is set to launch Prime Air, an exclusive fleet of Boeing 767 passenger planes with 300 seat capacity. The about 40 planes are to be leased to Amazon by Atlas Air and its partner, ATSG for operation within the next two years as noted by the senior vice president of worldwide operations, Dave Clarke.
The Prime Air’s Amazon One will be launched today at Seattle’s SeaFair Air Show. This move will mean that Amazon is more ready to meet the delivery needs of it’s ever growing customers. Amazon has also started advertising faster delivery times for its customers.
In addition to this, Amazon has added 4,000 trailers to its fleet and, a mobile app, Flex, that allows freelance drivers to use their vehicles to deliver Amazon products. With this the delivery with the use of drones might still be some years ahead.
