Android 8.0 Oreo has only reached 0.2% of devices in its first month

While iOS 11 with just a few days in the market has already been downloaded by more than 25% on Apple devices we have to face another year with the reality of Android, in which during the first month of life of the new version of Google's mobile operating system there are hardly any updated devices. Only 0.2% of devices are upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo as revealed by the new version distribution that Google has updated for this October. This figure does not surprise us, as currently only the Nexus and Pixel have officially updated Android Oreo.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is still the most used version

The novelty of October has been this, the first distribution data of Android 8.0 Oreo since it was launched at the end of August. In the other versions, there are no surprises, everything continues like last month. The most used version is still Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which goes from 32.2% to the current 32%. The second most used version is Android 5.0 / 5.1 Lollipop with 27.7% (earlier with 28.8%) and the third most used version is Android 7.0 / 7.1 Nougat with 17.8% (15.8% last month). Android 7.0 (15.8%) has advanced this month to Android 4.4 KitKat (14.5%). Android Nougat is already very close to being present in one of every five devices. It is possible that it will reach that goal next November, and that by the middle of the next year it will be the first version more used around 30%. When Google releases a new version it takes two years to be the most used.
