Are you an Alien fan or virtual reality freak? Well, here is some good news for you. You must have come across Alien: Covenant the trailer. And yes, it must have freaked the hell out of you. Now, imagine what it would be like to be part of the mission. Or worse still, imagine how terrified you would be to be the leader of your team. I am not bluffing and neither is this some hullabaloo or brouhaha, it is no longer a hush-hush topic left to mere speculation; Ridley Scott and The Fox Innovation lab have now joined hands to create Alien: Covenant VR.
This comes as good news to those of us who enjoy being freaked out. And yes, the terms used to describe this VR experience have not fallen short of our expectations. Hands down, I give a 5 star rating for Alien: Covenant the trailer. If the VR will be anything like what I have seen with the trailer, then all the credit should be given to this team of experts who have combined efforts to come up with such a wonderful experience.
Reported to be available as a paid title on major VR platforms like Playstation VR and Oculus Rift, Alien: Covenant VR experience has only been described as ”a dread-inducing journey into the depths of the alien universe”. Sounds impressive and am praying that it turn out to be exactly that. After all, why would I want to be associated with terror only to be taken through some normal beings? I want a really scary thing which will freak me out, that’s just me. And yes, that’s basically how most of us wish to view things when it comes to getting freaked out.
And yes, rumor (almost certain though) has it that the movie will provide the viewer with an opportunity to go through an alien world and witness what has never been seen before. In fact, it is said that it will indeed scare the viewers out of their wits. Come to think of it; if a movie could be that scary, then being part of it could never be less scary. For that reason, I really think that it is going to be an experience like no other. And being a project carried out by the market’s biggest names, we can only expect a blast! And yes, I hope they drop it hard such that it will take time before anything of its magnitude is unveiled again.
Fighting for survival while some strange creatures try to freak the hell out of me, and I hope it isn’t just freaking but also trying to suck the life out of my freaked self, that is just mind-blowing. This being the next biggest VR experience from Fox innovation lab after the release of Martian VR Experience, we can only cross fingers and pray that it falls within our expectations or better still, beyond our expectations.
Directed by Karlak and produced by Ridley Scott who is, in fact, and executive producer, we can only hope for the best from these best minds. Hoping that they used their previous VR Experience as a benchmark, I hope it turns out better. If the initial VR Experience is anything to go by, then it is going to be a breath-taking experience. We however wait to see how it turns out. Although the release dates are not yet confirmed, we anticipate that it will be mid 2017.
