The center called MobileFirst for iOS Garage will offer a complete suit of services for iOS app development.

The clients can avail a range of services including design, development, testing, delivery and maintenance from a single place. The center will also work with other design centers well which are located in Atlanta, Cupertino, Chicago, and Toronto.

The company also revealed that about 22 interdisciplinary teams are working in the center to provide a host of iOS solutions and services to clients. It is also planning to launch satellite centers in Romania, Brazil, and China in future .

Notably, IBM partnered with Apple in 2014 to develop iOS solutions for enterprises. Since then, the company has been instrumental in developing more than 100 apps across 15 industries for nearly 2000 clients.

It boasts of more than 500 Swift developers in its global network who work on these solutions. According to the company, India forms a huge majority of these developers which led them to launch a dedicated center in the country.

Talking about the same, Mahmoud Naghshineh, General Manager, IBM Apple Partnership said,

“India team has played a huge role from the beginning of the Apple partnership. In fact of the 100 apps we’ve developed, India team has played a major role in more than half of them.”

He further added that they were planning to increase their developer base this fiscal year by two times. IBM also announced another offering called Mobile at Scale.

It has targeted this offering to clients whose digital projects need more than three iOS apps for a multi-year period. These clients will get access to the entire MobileFirst portfolio of IBM, Enterprise Design Services and iOS app accelerators for rapid app development and customization.

The Bengaluru facility will handle these end to end engagements of design, development, and implementation of these apps.
