Nokia’s recently launched Nokia 6 smartphone, which is yet to make its debut in India, has reportedly started getting Android 7.1.1 Nougat update. It is an over-the-air (OTA) update which tags along a bunch of new features coupled with security patches.
The change-log reveals that the latest update brings in features like shortcut support on the home screen, enhanced power saving mode, and background management. It also brings support for 4G/3G dual SIM dual standby. A user also reported that the new update enables VoLTE mode on the device as well.
Further, new and updated emojis will now also be supported on Nokia 6. It also updates Nokia USB driver and version of pre-loaded applications. It also installs Android’s April security patch on the smartphone, which gets rid of security vulnerabilities and brings along bug fixes and overall system improvements.
This update carries the build number ’00CN_3_170′ and is said to be 369 MB in size. The update ensures that the company is delivering what it promises and also makes a statement that they will be quick to roll out updates — something which is usually not seen in third-party Android phone makers.
The Nokia 6 smartphone is slated to make its debut in India soon, along with its other devices — Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and the newly refreshed feature phone Nokia 3310. However, we do not know for sure when the devices will be launched in India, but we hope HMD Global launches the smartphones soon. We just cannot wait for the return of our beloved Nokia brand in India. Stay tuned for more updates!!
