Bengaluru-based telecommunications company Atria Convergence Technologies Pvt. Ltd. renders fiber under the brand name “ACT Fibernet” in the Southern cities of India. Elevating its scope of business, the telecom venture today announced a brand-new service in Hyderabad offering 1Gbps wired Broadband Internet connection with 1TB (terabyte) FUP cap, priced at Rs. 5,999/month.
The telecom firm further plans to introduce the aforementioned high-speed service in other 10 cities such as Bengaluru and Chennai. Presently, the leading telecom companies suffice schemes offering 1 Mbps speed, that too with a limited FUP cap. ACT Fibernet has tapped a scorable space in the industry, which still lacks high-speed broadband schemes at an affordable price.
With the launch of their new broadband plan, it targets startups, retail outlets, internet companies, and metropolitan offices – owing internet is the key to their survival. ACT launched its 100 Mbps plans only in February 2015, post its merger with Beam Telecom Pvt. Ltd. Within a short span of time, the company has emerged as the third largest Wired Broadband service provider in India with over 1.05 million subscribers, as on 31st August 2016.
Announcing the latest plan, Bala Malladi, CEO, ACT Fibernet said in a statement,
With our citizens and the government moving towards the Digital India movement, high speed internet is the need of the hour. With the launch of our 1 Gbps broadband internet service, it gives me immense pride to turn this dream into reality. The city of Hyderabad is apt for our maiden launch as it has some of the best technology brands, educational institutions and a vibrant economy.
ACT believes that this new product will transform the way internet is now being consumed at large and it will further fast-track the government’s newest target to connect all its 23 million Telangana residents to the Internet by 2018.
Meanwhile, the fresh aspirant in the telecom industry, Reliance Jio is soon to commercialize a relatable scheme offering 1 Gbps speed. It is currently piloting its broadband fiber network to the home (FTTH) wired network, called Reliance Jio GigaFiber, in Pune and Mumbai.
