One of the best things about Tesla cars is the fact that they can keep up with the times, courtesy of over the air updates the company regularly pushes to its cars. The company also hides some extras inside each of these updates and these extras tend to add a lot to the updates. The company recently released one such update and now, Elon Musk has taken to Twitter to announce the easter egg that comes with this particular update.
So once you have downloaded the 8.1 update, it is time to notice the large “T” placed on the vehicle’s center screen. This is the same screen that houses stuff like navigation, infotainment and so on. Once you tap this “T” three times, everything disappears from the screen and a blank white template along with a marker pen and an eraser comes up. You can also choose the color and size of your painting brush.

Using the tools at your disposal, you can now draw, write, doodle — basically whatever you want. Once you are ready with whatever you have come up with, you can submit it for the rest of the world to see too, right from inside the car. And then you will witness the following question pop up:
Are you sure want Tesla to critique your work?
That is the cue to say yes, or further improve your picture.
Musk also took the opportunity to show off some of his own creations via Twitter. For example, the SpaceX CEO showed off a strange looking creature (a unicorn) and a picture of the Mona Lisa that we can only assume he had penned himself.

Meanwhile, version 8.1 is one of the more heavier updates to have been rolled out by the company. Apart from a place to draw, it also adds new autonomous capabilities to both the Model S and Model X vehicles built since October 2016 (i.e the ones packed with new hardware capabilities). The update also makes use of the additional hardware, including sensors and the sort, into the car. However, true autonomy is still years away.
