With 13.2Mn players, Battlefield One Beta proves to be the most successful beta in EA history

The World War One extravaganza that is Battlefield One, just recently put an end to its immensely successful Beta period last week. The beta was live from August 30th to September 8th. And safe to say, it made history for EA by attracting a staggering 13 million players from all over the world.

Prior to Battlefield One’s feat, it was Star Wars Battlefront that held the candle for the biggest beta up till now with just over 9 million players crowding it’s servers. Battlefield didn’t just beat that number, it left an unreachable threshold of 13.2 million in its wake.

Along with the press release about the staggering amount of players, EA also revealed an info-graphic which contains some massive numbers pertaining to any and all beta achievements. Reportedly, there were 62.2 million horseback kills(Just putting this out there, these super-horses need to be toned down), while 13.8 million people got run down by cars.

Apart from this, Assault was the most popular class amongst the players (30 percent), followed by Scout(camper) at 28 percent. You can see more in-depth stats in the full infographic attached below.

Battlefield 1 Senior producer Aleks Grondal thanked the fans for all the helpful feedback they provided by participating in the open beta. He stated that the team at DICE is now pondering over the available data and will be adjusting the game accordingly. For example, the Light Tank performed “a little too well,” he said, suggesting that a possible nerf is incoming.

I want to personally thank you all for the great feedback you’ve given us, We’re trawling through forum posts, social media mentions, and digging into some great data. We’re identifying what worked well, and what didn’t work as well. We truly value your input. In the near future, we’ll have more details on the changes we’ll be making to the full version of the game.

said Grondal in the official statement.

This is all the more reason to look forward to the full release, which isn’t too far away now with a launch day of October 21st — for all platforms including the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
