Samsung Galaxy S10 Rumoured to Sport Reverse Charging Feature Like Huawei Mate 20 Pro

Another day, another bit of information on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 made it to the headlines. This time, it is the Reverse Charging feature that all three models of Samsung Galaxy S10 are expected to sport and it was recently confirmed by a report from Gizmodo which concretized a previous report published by the Wall Street Journal.

Although the recently discovered feature is speculated to be a marketing gimmick, let’s see what Samsung has to offer with it. The reverse Charging feature made a debut in Huawei lineup after Huawei Mate 20 Pro was launched with this feature, however, it had a humongous 4,200 mAh and remember, this bit of information will be handy when talking about Samsung’s Powershare aka reverse charging feature.

According to a report by SamMobile, Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 Lite, and Galaxy S10 Plus will sport a reverse charging feature that will allow users to charge their phone connecting the rear of their phones to another user’s rear section and the South Korean tech giant has summoned this feature as Powershare.

The thing with reverse charging is that even wireless charging is slow at the moment which is why OnePlus has been reluctant to provide wireless support to its smartphones even after being top-of-the-line flagship smartphones which now relies on 15W to 22.5W traditional charging speeds. Speaking about Powershare, it will require Samsung to unveil Galaxy S10 series with a larger battery size since a 3,000 or 3,500 mAh battery won’t be effective to charge another phone since this isn’t enough to power a single phone for a day let alone two phones.

Similar to wireless charging, reverse charging is considered as a marketing gimmick since the more a phone offers, the more buyers it gets. As of now, we are still a few weeks away from the Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup release and thus, it is very early to comment on Powershare and how it will work. It is possible that Samsung developed a faster reverse charging capability. No one knows for sure and therefore, we will have to wait for sometime to get an official glimpse at it.
