ChatGPT in Filmora 12 for Text and Images
So I guess it was only a matter of time before some video editing software program introduced some Open.A.I functionality into their software.
In the video below you can see a demonstration of Filmora’s beta test of doing just that.
To be honest it’s a bit clunky and very not ready for prime time but it’s a start.
They have opted to connect through Chat GPT but given that Chat GPT is strictly text based it really doesn’t offer much.
It’s sort of like Chat GPT lite!
Most likely because they are connecting through their own API the number of requests you can make is limited and really it’s all a bit style over substance at this point.
As far as images go the results shown are pretty underwhelming as I expected but I think once they connect to GPT 4.0 and possibly Midjourney or similar it will get better.
For now it’s all a bit “meh” but moving forward it’s all going to change.

Some time back now VideoStudio introduced the idea of being able to place markers on the timeline at certain points or at certain regular intervals.
This was a handy tool because you could then create Chapter points from those markers when creating optical discs or use them as guides for making cuts.
Recently VideoStudio added a whole bunch of features to that feature and collectively renamed them as “Audio Cues.”
I think they went with that because the old system was mainly being used as that.
You can use the new system to create cues based on the beat of the music or on a time basis as well as tools to make edits “fit” to the cues created.

This is a animation, keyframing and masking tutorial demonstrated in PowerDirector.
The creator uses PhotoDirector to create some of the assets used but any image editing software can pull off what he shows.
In fact just about any video editing software can do this as well although your program may look a little different.

Title Editing in VideoStudio: from Basic to Animated with Effects
The recent update of Corel VideoStudio to the 2023 version has seen some improvements to the Titling Module.
Now to be fair titles in VideoStudio have always been pretty good.
If that wasn’t enough they have always packed in a copy of NewBlue effects Titler Pro in the Ultimate version if you really wanted to go wild.
The problem with Titler Pro is that along with pro level title creation you also get pro level complexity and you pretty much have to learn a new program to use it!
So the fact that the basic title module has been enhanced is a good thing allowing for greater functionality.

Best Camera Apps for Android in 2023
Most of the video work I do involves fairly complex work in the editing stage and the use of large process heavy files.
For that reason I do all of my work on a computer and almost never use mobile devices for editing itself.
I certainly use them for shooting videos because the quality you can get these days is very good.
One of the best ways to ensure that is by taking control of the phone camera to a degree that goes beyond what most phone camera apps offer.
Usually it is quite difficult to maintain consistency when you switch off the auto settings as the camera is designed to want to revert to it’s presets to “help” you!
The best way to avoid this is to use a third party App to take control.
I personally use Open Camera as it does everything I need but some of the others shown in the video below are worth taking a look at.
