The article itself has an embedded video that goes for about an hour and covers everything you ever wanted to know about editing a video from soup to nuts!

The key to video editing without oging absolutely nuts is having a roadmap of procedures that you can follow.

If you have or can develop such a road map then editing can become quite an enjoyable experience.

The one killer for most people when they start off is not knowing what to do first and then what to do after that and after that etc.

Inevitably they discover they have missed something somewhere along the line and the constant re-doing of things already completed can be soul destroying.

This appears to be the first in a comprehensive series of videos from Studio Binder on the subject of shooting and editing videos at a more professional level.

However don’t be put off by that “professional” tag!

What they generally excel at is showing an aspect of video making at that pro level but making it seems very simple to understand whislt at the same time dispalying well chosen examples of each.

This first one covers the subject of the basic shots in shooting video and is a fascinating watch.

How I Made a Short Film in My Bedroom

This is quite a comprehensive breakdown video of a project the creator uploaded the previous week.

That video was a short film that was made entirely from already captured footage for another project but because of the Corona virus isolation restrictions, was put on hold.

This week Aiden takes the time to go through step by step almost the entire process of making that video giving an enormous amount of information as to how he did everything, the choices he made and the reasoning behind those choices.

PowerDirector – Slide a Text Banner on the Screen Using Keyframes

There are actually lots of ways to get text to slide in and out of your videos or do lots of different things.

Nine times out of ten there is usually more than one way to do all of them!

The video below is an example of using keyframes to get your text moving around.

PowerDirector 365 – Overview of 27 New Transitions

PowerDirector from CyberLink is currently at version 18 in both the Ultra and Ultimate levels of the program.

A year or so ago they added an additional “subscription” based version of the program called PowerDirector 365.

The advantage of the 365 version is that there is no need to wait for the program’s update cycle to complete before updates and even upgrades are applied.

Once something new becomes available it is immediately added to the program.

For someone always wanting to have the latest and greatest this is a bt of a no-brainer given the fact that it is reasonably priced when compered to the lifetime licence versions.

This week users of PowerDirector 365 and Director Suite 356 recieved a substantial addition to their transitions libraries.

27 quite sophisticated transitions have been added to those versions and you can see what it is all about in the video below.

How To Make The Screen Shot Flash Effect – CyberLink PowerDirector 18

This a demo of a kind of freeze framey, flashy, ghosty effect that you can use in your projects.

It relies on the ability to use some track transparency, create a screen shot and some basic track manipulation features so I think that pretty much all video editing software is going to be able to pull this one off.

Freeze Frame Sequence with Filmora9

This is a quick demo (Two minuts to be exact!) of a freeze frame sequence done in Filmora9.

It is important to understand that this is not just another freeze frame effect where you have motion, the frame freezes then motion continues.

This is a similar effect but in this case there are multiple freezes and the video continues while those freeze points remain on the screen to create a sequence rather than just a straight effect.

How To Make A Reaction Video in Filmora9

This is an excellent walk through of how to set up your computer and software to create those “reaction” videos that are so popular on YouTube these days.

To begin with there is one point I have to make about this because the demo itself is done using Filmora9 which is one of the more simple video editing software programs around.

Let’s face it, if you can do it in Filmora then you can probably do it with anything… well almost.

The technique itself is not all that complicated but the key to it is getting yourself setup correclty and that’s what the video below shows.

There is just one more point that needs to be addressed here.

I have copies of Filmora, Corel VideoStudio, CyberLink PowerDirector and Magix Movie Edit Pro on my computer for testing purposes.

If I open the Screen Capture Program from any of those programs the most obvious thing is that they all look totally the same!

I strongly suspect that all of those companies are using the same screen capture program from some third party software company and branding it as their own.

So if you watch this video demonstration done in Filmora9 then you can at least do it in exactly the same was for all those others.
