Google’s big October event is tomorrow, and rumors suggest we’ll see a ton of new hardware unveiled, including new Pixel smartphones running stock Android (replacing the Nexus lineup of devices). The event will also tell us more about Google Home, the Amazon Echo competitor that Google previewed at I/O earlier this year, including likely when you can get your hands on one.
Here’s a breakdown of what we can expect, including some of the more out-there possibilities that haven’t already been leaked to the extreme.
Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL
Both these will have similar specs, but the display on its standard version is 5 inches, whereas the larger XL will come up with 5.5 inch screen. It is said that both are expected to have the latest in terms of specs, including a new snapdragon 821 processor from Qualcomm, 4GB of Ram in order to power the operating system as well as the apps. It will also have a full 1080p HD screen on the pixel and will include 12 megapixel cameras as well as fingerprint scanners for security purpose.
As per rumors, the financing programs will be similar to Apple’s own installment purchase plan of iPhone and it is believed that this might minimize the burden for buyers.
It is Google’s handy little HDMI dongle, allowing you to stream stuff from your PC or your phone to your television sets. Chromecast audio provides same functionalities for audio systems. As per a recent report, it is expected to support video streaming in 4K resolution. It is believed that the latest iteration of the Chromecast focuses on video and is also expected to offer much improved networking capabilities.
Google has already shown its Amazon Echo-like Home device at its IO conference this year. This voice-activated speaker has been effectively designed to answer questions properly and play music. It serve as a control hub for the IoT gear.
Due to the Google I/O, we are aware of the fact that it will have company’s new assistant that can be seen in the messaging app, Allo and will work with smart home devices.
If you are expecting new Android Wear devices then you are going to be disappointed. As per Google, Android Wear 2.0 update would be delayed until 2017 without any specific reasons.
It is the code name for a hybrid Chrome-Android operating system and is based on Android and has been enhanced with some capabilities from Chrome OS in order to provide support enterprise and consumer focused apps.
There is a already a router with Google, but the company is looking forward to launch another one and this newly launched will supposedly be known as Wi-Fi. It will undoubtedly be a more traditional home network router. There is not much information on how better it will be, but the company will definitely have something to speak about it at the upcoming event.
