Hey everyone, YouTuber Matt OnYourScreen has found a way to bypass the fingerprint security of the LG V10 and gain unlimited access to the device. To make the bypass possible, the device needs to have Nova Launcher installed and then the whole process just takes seconds.
Lets know how this all happens.

Getting access to the device is fairly simple. First, you need to get the device unlocked, maybe ask the device for making a call or to show a app. After you have the device in your hands, you need to have the device for few minutes and also be sure that the owner isn't paying attention on you. Again repeating, the device needs to have Nova Launcher installed, other launchers won't work, just say that the device has Google Now Launcher then this vulnerability won't work.
After you have got access to the device and when it is running Nova Launcher, then tap the home screen go to the widgets section, then add the Nova action widget to the home screen and then choose the activity "com.lge.fingerprintsettings".

Tap on the widget and then it will take you to the fingerprint settings where you can add your own fingerprint and then remove the widget. Until and unless the user removes the fingerprint, you will have a unlimited access to the phone.

There's even a simple way to prevent it, The LG V10 supports only 4 fingerprint profiles, so to prevent having unauthorized access, just add 4 fingerprint profiles in the phone or you can also use any other launcher except Nova.
