A couple weeks ago, we found a new game coming to 3DS called 80’s Overdrive. Though screenshots revealed that it was an old-school arcade racer, no more information was revealed or shown. While there’s still a lot we don’t know about the game, the developers recently lifted the lid on what we can generally expect out of it.
Nintendo Everything reached out to the developers and got quite a response. There will be two modes: Career and Time Attack, and there’s also plans to implement some kind of track editor. Different parts of your car will be upgradeable to improve acceleration, handling, etc. in addition to extra parts like a police radio or a nitro boost. Also, there’ll be some kind of side missions available, too, evidently by picking up certain items on the track along the way. The developer intends to put in at least eight cars – if not more – and there’ll be at least thirty races in the career mode. Unfortunately, there won’t be any kind of multiplayer, but at least there’ll be 3D support.
