How to Root OnePlus 5T Easily

You can Root OnePlus 5T By flashing the Recovery, using adb and Fastboot and then flashing the Recovery Flashable su.zip file So here are the Requirements and steps to Root OnePlus 5T with Computer.

Requirements to Root OnePlus 5T

  1. A Windows Computer with ADB and Fastboot.( Download from Here)
  2. OnePlus 5T more than 80% Charged.
  3. USB C-Type cable.
  4. UnOffcial TWRP Recovery for OnePlus 5T
  5. Recovery Flashable zip file.

Step 1: To Root OnePlus 5T You have to Unlock Bootloader on Your OnePlus 5T

After Unlocking Bootloader all your data would be will be automatically wiped off.

  • First of all, Setup ADB and Fastboot on your Computer.
  • Now go to Settings>> About Phone, here tap the Build number 7 times until you see a popup saying “Developer Options Enabled”.
  • Now go back into Settings Again, You will found a new option “Developer Options” Click on it, and Enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking.
  • Now connect your OnePlus 5T to your PC via its USB Cable.
  • Now You have to Open the command window on your PC and you can do that by going into the ADB Folder and Pressing the Right Mouse Button while Holding the Shift Key, then select “Open Command Window here”.
  • Now Go to Bootloader or Fastboot mode by entering the following command:

adb reboot bootloader

  • Now Your phone will ask “Allow USB Debugging”, Tap on Allow.
  • Now enter the following Command in your Command Window:

fastboot oem unlock

Now, Your OnePlus 5T’s Bootloader s Unlocked and you are ready to Flash TWRP Recovery on your OnePlus 5T.

Step 2: How to Install TWRP Recovery on OnePlus 5T

  • Connect your OnePlus 5T to your PC again.
  • Now You have to Open the command window on your PC and you can do that by going into the ADB Folder and Pressing the Right Mouse Button while Holding the Shift Key, then select “Open Command Window here”.
  • Now download the theTWRP Image file from Requirements for your OnePlus 5T on your PC and Move it to the same ADB Folder.
  • Now Go to Bootloader mode by entering the following command:

adb reboot bootloader

  • Now Your phone will ask “Allow USB Debugging”, Tap on Allow.
  • Now enter the following command in your Command Window:

fastboot flash recovery o5ttwrp.img

  • Now after flashing is completed  You have to reboot your OnePlus 5T to do that, enter the following Command:

fastboot reboot

Congratulation! You have successfully flashed the Unofficial TWRP Recovery on Oneplus 5T. Now we are moving on How to Root OnePlus 5T through Custom Recovery.

Step 3: How to Root OnePlus 5T through Custom Recovery

Follow these Steps Carefully to Install TWRP Recovery on your OnePlus 5T:

  • Download the Recovery Flashable SuperSU.zip File from Requirements Section on your OnePlus 5T.
  • Now reboot your OnePlus 5T into TWRP Recovery mode by holding the Power and Volume UP Key Simultaneously.
  • Here, tap on Install, now select the downloaded .zip file that you just downloaded.
  • After selecting Recovery Flashable SuperSU.zip file, Swipe to Confirm at the bottom to begin the installing or flashing or rooting Process.
  • Once the Process is completed Reboot your OnePlus 5T by Clicking on Reboot System.Congratulation! You have successfully Rooted OnePlus 5T.
  • After Rebooting, Confirm the Root Access with Root checker or any other app.
  • Now you need to update the SU binary of Rooted OnePlus 5T.You can do that by following steps.
    • OPEN Super User app. it will show you a message that The SU binary needs To be Updated, Continue?  click on “Continue” and then click on” Normal” on the next windows.
    • It will take Some time to Update the SU binary so just wait.
    • If the process is completed successfully then a new window with the message “Installation success” will be visible.
    • Now reboot Your Android Smart Phone.
  • That’s it, These Steps will definitely Root OnePlus5T and Other OnePlus Smartphones as well.
