OUTLOOK: WON’T LET ME ADD ATTACHMENTS

I ran into a problem at a client who wanted to Attach a file in Outlook 2016.  He would open outlook and open an email and try to attach a file from the big paper clip.  It would pop open and then disappear.  I said that can’t be true but it happened to me as well.  After searching for a while… I realized that the issue was that outlook was updating.  I tried to figure out how to turn off the updates… no such luck…

My only solution was to

1. click create new email

2. then at the very top where it says untitled message… look to your left you should see a white disk now start going to the right… and you should see a little bar with an upside down triangle…

3. click the bar and there should be an option that says attach file… select it… now you should see a paperclip in that top bar… for me its a blue background with white lettering… and my paperclip is white…

4.  now when you create an email just click that white paperclip and go search for your attachments.  no more peek-a-boo!… it should stay open and all should be well again in outlook heaven…
