While we saw a lot of Trends evolve in 2014, surprisingly quite a few gained momentum and stuck around to become the most Popular Web Design trends in 2015. Here are some trends that have caught ever web designer’s attention and have given websites an innovative outlook.
It is one of the fastest growing trends and people love them. Instead of distracting you from your focal point, these buttons catch your eye in the most subtle way possible. They are designed to be empty or semi-transparent by default. Designers usually round the corners and use extra padding around the text to give it the look of a button. Two words to describe it: Simple and effective.
Custom css3 animation
CSS animations make it possible to animate transitions from one CSS style configuration to another. Animations consist of two components, a style describing the Css Animation and a set of keyframes that indicate the start and end states of the animation’s style, as well as possible intermediate waypoints along the way.
Everyone’s personal favourite happens to be the scrolling page element animation. When a visitor scrolls down, the page elements tend to fade in or slide into view from offscreen.
Most designers like to keep their site simple. They avoid flooding it with images and buttons and make do with a large attractive background with a few simple words and a video. This trend has been inspired by movies and Tv ads or classic magazine covers.
The name can be rather misleading sometimes, because it is not really flat and is still one of the most popular Web Design Trends. It is doing really well since the last 3 years and is likely to stay for good especially in smaller elements such as icons, menus, and the sort.
Is it just me or do people seem to be attracted more towards the supernatural and the mysterious?….
Moving on… Designers use this trend to hide navigation off screen until you interact with an element towards the top left or right of the screen.
Scrolling in the deep
What would you prefer? Scrolling or clicking? Scrolling is way faster than clicking and less of an effort for your precious index finger as well.
It’s most effective for sites that engage in storytelling. It’s mobile, touch friendly and requires very little use of our cognitive functions.
In short, it’s a win win.
Still a major trend. Be it an e-commerce site, a portfolio or a blog. I suppose images speak louder than words.Designers use images to communicate their messages more effective. Hence, the illustrated classics are way more in demand.

Modular or Grid-based structures
In these designs each module is intended to flex based on the screen size. This isn’t exactly a revelation, but it has gained significant popularity this year.
The talk of the town and a probable success – this vector format beauty breathes life into your website and makes dozing off while browsing impossible. Plus, nobody can get enough of animation trends.
The Bigger the Better
Squinting → Headache → Annoyance → Drama
Avoidable? Don’t you think? Large typography is a raging new trend. It is a very effective way of grabbing a visitor’s attention by ensuring that the most important message is too visible to be missed. Genius!
