It's 2015 and Google's Project Ara is becoming closer to a real consumer product, it has been awesome watching this product develop into what it is now and the excitement of knowing that the future is near and that soon Modular Smartphones will be something you can actually buy, from the phonebloks video to now it has been an awesome journey.

I have always hated how phones have been designed to be replaced every year like with Apple, every year Apple fans are lining up to get the latest iPhone, The same probably goes for android devices too but Apple gets all the attention, I have always thought this was ridiculous and wasteful to both the consumer and the environment, the amount of Electronic waste we produce is incredible.

I love Project Ara because of this, you dont need to buy the latest and greatest phone to get the latest features, and you have to option to customize the phone with what you need, some people like to have more storage while others like to have really good cameras, the ability to customize your phone is there with Ara.

The other thing I really like with Ara is the ability to personalize your phone, I have not seen a phone where you could put photos of your family on the phone itself, I think this is fantastic that you can do this with Ara modules.

Pick and choose the modules you like from the brands you love, this will also be a great ability, it's like building a custom PC, pick the parts and put them together although a PC is a little more complicated its a similar process, and you can read reviews for each of the modules and pick what suits your needs.

And if your like me and you don't like having any limitations then you could even have a module bag or something similar and take the modules you want with you, I am really excited about Project Ara and cant wait to get one.
