Google introduces Search Trends Hub for the Olympics

As the Olympics games advances, Google is rolling out today a new feature called Trends Hub to assist people know whats trending during the Global Athletics events. With Trends Hub, users can view happening trends around each sport as well as general search trends like “Most searched Olympics sport?” Users can now more easily find information on the Olympics in search, including details on event schedules, athletes, and medal counts, and can sign up for automatic alerts through the Google app for Android and iOS. Event highlights can also be viewed from select broadcasters in more than 60 countries on YouTube, along with mobile live streams from 15 YouTube Creators who have been chosen to cover the games.

Media companies can also use this new hub to have an insight and better understand what people were searching for most during this year’s event. 

The 2016 Summer Olympics officially known as the Games of the XXXI Olympiad and commonly known as Rio 2016, is a major international multi-sport event in the tradition of the Olympic Games as governed by the International Olympic Commitee, being held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to run from August 5th until 21st, 2016.
