The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz premium sedan model is a highly important and successful model for the company. Maruti Suzuki, India’s leading car maker had its success solely depended on its affordable small cars in the country’s mass auto market. However, with the development of the Indian car market the Indo-Japanese car major wanted to make its presence felt in the premium segments as well, but all its older efforts with premium cars failed badly in India. With the launch of Ciaz, Maruti Suzuki first tasted great success in any premium car segment in this country.
Launched in the festive season of 2014, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz premium sedan went on to become an instant hit and kept on growing in its demands. The Ciaz’s sales increased so much that it went ahead challenging the leadership position of the Honda City in the segment. Maruti Suzuki soon also introduced the company’s smart hybrid technology on the diesel version of the Ciaz in order to increase its fuel efficiency and eco-friendliness in keeping with the government push.
Currently, the Ciaz is fighting very successfully with its market rivals and holds a prominent position in its own segment. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sedan rivals the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Volkswagen Vento in the Indian C-segment.
