This Anti-Thief App is designed to protect you, your phone, and its contents. It offers multiple features such as:

LOCK – It is actually a text command feature that gives protection to lost/stolen phone by texting its keyword. This feature will activate aloud, non-stop alarm that screams “Magnanakaw, magnanakaw!” It will lock the phone entirely as well as its power button, volume buttons, etc.are deactivated.

Once this feature activated, the alarm will not stop even if the phone is on silent, turned off, or replaced with a new SIM card.

Just text the keyword “LOCK [Your No.] [Your PIN]” then send it to 5161 to lock the lost/stolen phone. Once you get it back, you can unlock the phone by texting the keyword “UNLOCK [Your No.] [Your PIN]”to 5161.Alternatively, users can call the TARA hotline numbers.

LOCATE – It allows you to get the exact and current location of your lost or stolen phoneanywhere in the world – as long as it has signal. This feature utilizes your phone’s GPS and its location access code cellular ID.

To activate the Locate text the keyword“LOCATE [Your No.] [Your PIN]” then send it to 5161.

WIPE – This features gives the users an ability to wipe the phone’s contents back to factory setting. If your lost phone contains private or even sensitive information, you can opt to erase your phone’s contents entirely by texting the “WIPE [Your No.] [Your PIN]” to 5161.

BACK-UP CONTACTS – This in-app feature helps you protect the phone’s content. At anytime, you can back-up your phone’s contacts, which will be uploaded and secured in TARA servers.

You can also restore your backed-up contacts, even on a different phone. Simply text the keyword “RESTORE CONTACTS [Your No.] [Your PIN]” to 5161 and a link will be sent to them.

Make sure you’re using either SMART, SUN or TNT SIM and it’s on SIM slot 1 if you’re using a dual SIM phone. Texting the command keyword is FREE of charge for the three networks.

To activate, users must create a TARA account. You should provide some basic important information like complete name, secondary mobile number, email address, and the unique 6-digit PIN. You should activate your account before installing the app on the phone.

As of now, TARA app is only available for Android users. It is free on the first month upon registration. After that, users may opt to subscribe from one of their subscription plans, which will be charged from their prepaid load or postpaid bill.
