It can seem impossible to reach your weight loss goals. When beginning a new exercise routine, it is easy to find determination, but as the first few workouts end, the motivation often wanes. How do you determine the key to successful weight loss?


The first step in any successful weight Loss Program is to have a realistic goal in mind. Having a solid, attainable goal in mind when you begin a weight loss program can help you stay focused and motivated.


Be sure to keep track of the progress you are making each week. You should only weigh yourself once a week and keep track of your weigh-ins. Within the journal, create a Food log to keep track of all the food you eat each day. Writing down what you are eating will help you remember to make healthier choices.


You should avoid making last minute decisions about food. If you wait until you’re excessively hungry, you’re more likely to make unhealthy eating choices, to eat impulsively, or to overeat. Avoid this by planning each of your meals and snacks in advance. Bring your lunch instead of going out to eat. Eating in is a fabulous way to shed weight and save your hard earned cash.


Eating healthy meals and snacks is one part of your weight loss program – frequent exercise is the other. Some people find that sticking to an effective workout program is a lot harder than sticking to a healthy diet. However, you can find ways to raise your interest in exercise by tying it together with things you love or inviting friends to join you. Combine the two if you find it to be necessary. Go to a fitness class or on a walk together.


By keeping Junk Food out of the house, you remove its availability and accessibility to your life. If the food is not there, you can’t eat it. Switch out the junk food for healthy foods. There are a number of snacks that are not only healthy, but also tasty. These include fresh fruits, veggies and granola bars. Do not buy any junk food that you might overindulge in. If you make these foods less accessible you’ll be less likely to partake in them.


You will be able to stick to your weight loss goals when you have support. Have your friends give you support and encouragement. Having friends cheer you on when you are ready to give up is a great benefit. When you feel like kicking back and watching some TV, your workout buddy can help you get moving! They know you’d do the same for them if the situation was reversed.
