An Indian Navy MiG-29K naval fighter caught fire while taking off from the Dabolim Airport in Goa.
The trainee pilot ejected safely from the aircraft and was unharmed. The aircraft came to rest on its nose after its nose landing gear collapsed.
The fire on the aircraft was extinguished completely and aircraft rendered safe after removal of fuel onboard.
The incident marks the first involving the MiG-29K fighters acquired by Indian Navy for operating from the INS Vikramditya aircraft carrier.
