Pantone Color of the Year for 2016

For a few years I’ve posted about Pantone’s announcement of their Color of the Year – I’m not sure why, other than as a label company we use Pantone’s color standards in a lot of our jobs.

For 2016 Pantone has made an effort to be gender neutral and has picked two Colors, a pink and a blue (OK, they call them Rose Quartz and Serenity but they are pink and blue to me). According to Pantone, consumers are looking for colors that “…  psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security…”

Do you agree or think it’s complete nonsense?

Anyway, if you want to read more about this, just check out the Pantone site.
