LinkedIn has made it possible for users to send mutual Voice Messages to each other. The possibility is integrated into the chat service, and works similar to how voice messages can be recorded on WhatsApp.
In a blog post LinkedIn explained how users can use the voice functionality. On both Android and iOS it is possible to record voice messages by pressing the microphone icon, where the recording takes as long as the button is held down; this makes it similar to the WhatsApp chat service. Messages can be up to one minute long.
The audio file then enters the chat as a playable file, with which the recipient can play it if desired. According to LinkedIn, functionality should make it easier to chat on the go because no long messages need to be typed. LinkedIn also states that it should be easier for people to express themselves.
It may be that it takes some time before the speech functionality arrives at everyone. In the coming weeks, the feature will be made available worldwide.
