Swedish owner adds cable operators Caiway and Delta

together under new name
Swedish investment company EQT is going to combine cable operators Caiway and Delta into a holding company called Delta Fiber Nederland BV. The integration of the two companies is progressing step by step and starts from 1 August.

According to Emerce , the brand names of both suppliers remain independent and retain their portfolio with their own products. For customers, therefore, little or nothing would change. Huib Costermans, previously employed at KPN as chief financial officer and then at the Irish telecom company Eircom, will also become the CFO of the newly merged company. The director of Delta, Marco Visser, will lead the new holding company.

When EQT announced in November last year that it wanted to acquire Caiway from the Rabo Building Fund Communication Infrastructure Fund, it was clear that the investor ultimately wanted to merge Delta and Caiway. Supervisor ACM agreed with the acquisition of Caiway in January . The Zeeland provider Delta already sold its retail activities to EQT in 2016 and the Swedish investor also acquired the former fiber operator CIF in 2017. With the acquisition of Caiway and CIF, EQT has both a coax and a fiber optic network.

EQT will also bring Delta’s energy activities into a separate, independent company, Delta Energie BV. With this, EQT separates the different company structures and according to TotaalTV , the merging of Caiway and Delta is a logical step, because it makes it easier to sell the new company again.
