Epic Games has announced which renewal will be implemented in Fortnite Battle Royale as of Season 5. The game will have a steerable Vehicle in which four players can take place. Moreover, the Storm in the game is moving.
Epic Games explains the changes in the patchnotes at v5.0, or Season 5 of the online shooter. For example, the island on which the popular Battle Royale mode of the game takes place has been considerably adjusted. Three new zones have been added to the map: a piece of desert, an area called Paradise Palms and Lazy Links: a golf course. The new parts replace existing areas. For example, Paradise Palms replaces Moisty Mire and Lazy Links replaces the Anarchy Acres. There are also smaller points of interests added, says Epic.
In the form of the All Terrain Kart, abbreviated ATK, the game is also the first truly controllable vehicle that passengers can take with them. A total of four players fit into the cart. The cart can also drift around the corners and if the rear players are hanging out of the vehicle at the same time as the cart makes a jump, the vehicle gets a lot higher. Finally, a jumppad has been incorporated in the roof of the trolley.
The gameplay is likely to be influenced most by the changes to the storm that rages across the island. By the end of the match, in phase 7, 8 and 9 of the storm, the eye of the storm will move somewhat. Until now, the circle in which players are safe from the storm shrinks to a fixed point, but that point will move in random directions with effect from Season 5. Furthermore, blue portals appeared at several places on the island just before the introduction of patch v5.0. Its function is not yet revealed in the patchnotes. Epic does let go that the portals will give you a ‘wild ride’.
With the new Switch version, after patch v5.0 it is possible to control the game by tilting the console. In addition, the game is expanded with the necessary new cosmetic items.
